The study adapts the interiors of former Franciscan cloister for the purposes of the regional youth center (DCM). This institution organizes free time activities and events for teenagers and students by the Roman Catholic Diocese in Pilsen.
The proposal includes strategies for space organization and interaction between the institution, the younger generation and the visitors. Integrated and mobile furniture offer various scenarios of use (lectures, discussions, small group meetings, workshops, individual counseling and its management). The adjustable indirect illumination complements rather small windows and softens the sharp light in the central hallway. Most of the rooms are composed around a "point of regard", portraying certain spiritual concept. These concepts are displayed through objects and paintings such as the refractive altar in a small chapel and contemporary iconography by Danylo Movchan and Sergii Radkevych.
Central hallway: a device for interaction between the institution, the younger gerneration and the visitors. Dispersive lighting softens the shadows. A new built-in volume with benches and the presentation wall seprates the hallway from a small chapel and the main hall. A small foyer treats the entrance with the iconographic work of Danylo Movchan.
