Here are outputs from the ‘Struktury a plo(e)chy’ workshop I have attended. It was held by Rheinzink (CZ) at Faculty of Architecture, CTU Prague and we were tutored to design and develop a small scale structure with their material, equipment and know-how.
During two intense weekend sessions we have received technical background and practical advices showing the merits and limits of the material. It was amazing opportunity to test the material properties on our own while constructing a physical object.
We came up with a patterned, self supporting cylindrical structure and a connection detail that tries to exploit the material properties. With ca. 7m2 of the metal sheet we wanted to reach the point where structure ceases to work as a single surface and starts to have spatial character.
Project was organized by SPA (FA, CTU Prague).
